THE WORLD’S BEST DELAY PEDALThe Replica delay from T-Rex Engineering has won so much praise and received so many great reviews, it’s hard to know where to start describing what’s made this pedal such a phenomenon. Is it the perfect mix of controls, the ingenious tap control feature, the astonishingly warm tone?
Replica delivers everything the most demanding guitarists could want in a delay – which is probably why guitar heroes from Pete Townsend to John Mayer rely on the Replica to help deliver their sound.
One of the Replica’s most brilliant features is its toggle-switch tap control. To set your delay rate to the tempo of the song you’re playing, all you have to do is to tap to the beat. This keeps your delay in time even as you change tempo – slowing down at the end of a song, for example. It really takes
delay control to the next level. Warm, analogue tone Like everything T-Rex makes, the Replica is a musician’s pedal, built by and for musicians with just one thing in mind: incredibly tone. The first time you hear the Replica, you won’t believe your ears. It delivers a tubey warmth that brings out the best in your natural tone, without taking the upper hand by adding too much colour.
The Replica delay pedal embodies everything T-Rex Engineering stands for: the perfect feature set, simple, intuitive design and extraordinary tone. Try one today, and you’ll discover the only delay pedal you’ll ever need for a lifetime of great music.
It is hard to believe, that this delay pedal is digital. It gives the warmth of all-tube echo and also cool digital delay in studio quality. All with the convenience of one pedal.
TIME, REPEAT, MIX and LEVEL knobs allow for quick, precise control. A Hi-cut button cuts high frequencies on repeats - perfectly simulating the tone of a 60s era tape echo.
With a simple flick of a switch you can alter the delay’s subdivision parameter from 1/4 to 1/8 triplets, and to make the delay fit your purpose we even added a Tap-Tempo switch to get you right in time with your tune.
Play it and you'll buy it!

GuitarPlayer Toolbox August issue 2003T-REX REPLICA
Hand-built in Denmark, the Replica ($395 street) provides up to 2000ms of studio-quality digital delay at an astonishing 200kHz sampling rate by routing input signals directly into and out of RAM via 24-bit Burr Brown A/D/A converters.
And thats not all that distinguishes the Replica from other delays. You can tap-in delay times using the built-in Tap Tempo footswitch (with corresponding rate LED), press the Subdivision switch to generate quarter-note triplets of the selected delay time, and even sync tempo to an external MIDI device using the built-in MIDI input. True bypass switching insulates you from unwanted tone sucking, but in case youd prefer the slightly muffled sound of a 50s tube tape echo, engaging the Brown circuit (a high-cut filter) will get you there faster than you can say "Duane Eddy."
The Replica not only sounded fabulous with a variety of guitars and amps, but also as a studio processor (its switchable +4/?10dB input sensitivity makes it compatible with pro-studio gear). The delays were fat and warm with and without the Brown switch engaged and remained clear and undistorted even at the full two-second delay time.
The built-in AC power supply is another pro touch, and the MIDI input (which actually works) is totally off-the-hook. Knobs for Echo (wet/dry blend), Level, Repeat, and Tempo do just what youd expect.
The Replica is simply one of the best-sounding delays Ive heard in pedal or rack-mount form. Combine that with its over-the-top feature set, and you get a pedal worthy of an Editors Pick award.
